Anglesey Grazing Animals Partnership

About AGAP

AGAP is a partnership between Anglesey County Council, the Countryside Council for Wales, Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (Cymru), North Wales Wildlife Trust, PONT, RSPB and the National Trust. The project is also funded by the Sustainable Development Fund.

AGAP assists landowners and graziers through provision of grant funding for capital work, a livestock leasing scheme and a marketing initiative to promote the sale of products from wildlife sites. Livestock is carefully matched with the land to encourage a diversity of plants, birds and animals.

The use of rare and traditional breeds is encouraged. They are hardy, sure-footed and can thrive on unimproved land. Using them to graze our sites helps to preserve breeds as well as benefiting wildlife.
